Alaska salmon fishing
Kodiak Alaska fishing vacation Alaska tour

Fish fresh water, rivers and lakes as well as calm saltwater bays with our expert licensed guides. We fish for all five species of salmon as well as steelhead and dolly varden. Halibut and a multitude of rock fish are caught within minutes of the lodge and are normally found in less than 50 feet of water.

No crowded shorelines or scores of boats to compete with, just fabulous fishing in a pure and natural state. It's why we say at Kodiak Lodge, it's fishing the way it should be.
Check out our fishing seasons here.

Along with the great fishing found at Kodiak Lodge, guest can also partake in a myriad of other activities and enjoy all that Alaska has to offer while staying in a small but luxurious resort.

Other activities that can be booked through Kodiak Lodge include:

Kodiak Island Hunting Trips

Kodiak Lodge can coordinate hunting expeditions for our guests. Stay in luxurious rooms and enjoy fine dining and experience Alaska's hunting with expert guides. Kodiak Lodge can combine a fishing and hunting vacation of a lifetime.
At Kodiak Lodge our goal is to provide our clients with the finest Alaskan experience available. In pursuit of this goal we often are required to contract with other companies who either specialize in certain services or hold the necessary permits for certain activities.

As Kodiak lodge is located in the heart of the Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge, access to many of the rivers and streams are highly regulated. For example access to the Ayakulik River is limited to only two outfitters, or to the public on a non-guided basis. We do, however, have a relationship with an outstanding guide and are often able to combine a day or two of fishing with him during your stay with us.

Hunting in Alaska is also highly regulated by the State of Alaska, and the Alaska Department of Fish & Game. Alaska State Patrol strictly enforces the laws and regulations. On Kodiak there are exclusive guide areas. For much of the hunting in Alaska, non-residents are required to hunt with a Registered Big Game Hunting Guide. We work with several of these guides and would be happy to help you arrange for their services. For other hunts, such as deer and reindeer, you may hunt on a self-guided basis and use Kodiak Lodge as a base in which to transport you to your desired hunting location. Be aware of law requirements and research the area prior to your arrival.

Flying in Alaska is also a very specialized type of work. At Kodiak lodge we have made the decision not to own our own airplanes but instead work with the finest air charters in Alaska to fly our guests to several outstanding locations. The advantage to our clients is to fly with a pilot who flies year-around in Alaska and who can specialize in bush flying on Kodiak Island.

What Kodiak Lodge provides in-house, is luxury accommodations and gourmet meals, guided saltwater fishing, guided duck and ptarmigan hunting, and related services. We also have a limited number of permits to fish the Karluk River during the June king salmon run as well as permits to fish the Zachar and Browns rivers on Kodiak Island. Kodiak Lodge is licensed to use Koniag native land.

If you have any questions or concerns or would like to expand the scope of your Alaskan adventure, please call or e-mail us.
