Minutes from our lodge is the famous Karluk River. Few rivers offer the diversity of fish and the sheer volume as the Karluk. Fisherman come from all over the world to fish this pristine river and for good reason. Home to Kings, Sockeye, Silvers, Dolly Varden and Steelhead, the Karluk provides solitude and a true Alaskan experience.
The Karluk is accessible by a short hike or ATV ride from our lodge. In those instances we will wade the nearby banks. We also have the ability to fly in to the Karluk and float the entire lower river, about a 14 mile stretch. Contact reservations for more information if you are interested in this.
A short boat ride from our lodge is the Zachar river. Another magical place where bears out number fisherman. This narrow and shallow river is home to hard fighting chums, feisty pinks and chrome silvers. Depending on the time of year, it is not uncommon for a group of fisherman to land 100 fish in a day.
Whether its spin casting or fly fishing our guides are experienced in these waters. We provide waders, boots and all the tackle you will need. Of course, if you have a favorite rod or wish to bring your own equipment, you are welcome to do so.
