COVID-19 Update

Date: May 7, 2020

It’s a crazy world we’re living in nowadays, with unprecedented restrictions on our daily life. These past few months have changed how we all go about our lives and plan for the future amidst all of the uncertainty. For us at Kodiak Lodge all we want to do is go fishing and our plan is to do so this summer, hopefully with anyone that can make it. Currently the State of Alaska has a mandatory 14-day quarantine in place for any out of state travelers coming into Alaska. Through the end of April even travel in-state was very restricted, but it is looking like there is light at the end of the tunnel. As of May 8th, the state is allowing most service businesses to open at a 25-50% capacity level depending on the business. What we are waiting on is the lift of the 14-day quarantine for out of state travelers and feel like it should be lifted sometime before the end of June. We expect July, August and September to be safe bets for traveling to Alaska without the quarantine mandate. As of right now we are still in a “wait and see” position before we make any decisions on our season, but will update once we have clear direction on what we can do this season.
